Basic Hand Building Workshop

Our offline hand building pottery classes teach you to make ceramic projects without a pottery wheel. We will teach you to make beautiful, functional pottery projects like cups, mugs, plates, bowls, baking dishes, vases, ceramic decorations, murals, nameplates and outdoor pottery projects as well.

This course is suited for beginners so no prior knowledge in pottery is required.

Techniques we will cover:

• Brief History of Pottery
• Introduction to types of clay and firing
• Wedging and preparing your clay
• Hand building techniques
• Tips and tricks used to make your pieces faster and better during hand building

Note:

• For ages 12 and above only.
• No prior clay knowledge is required to join our workshops.
• All materials and tools will be provided to be used in the studio during the session.
• Each session will be strictly of 1 hour 30 mins.
• You can join along with family and friends
• Fees to be paid in advance.
• The workshop fee is non- refundable.

Kay Points:

• This is a 10 day workshop
• First session is theoretical
• Second session on wards, you will be making one article each day using the technique taught on that day.
• You will be using terracotta clay during the sessions.
• Some articles if complicated might take two sessions to complete.

( This will also depend on each students individual speed and skill )

• Each article that you make will be fired and given back to you
• You may collect your pieces after 6 weeks from the studio.
• In case you're unable to pick up your piece, we will ship them to you at an additional shipping cost.
• Each student has to clean up their own work area and tools after each session

This workshop will equip you to start making small hand built projects on your own without any assistance. It is also a complete stress buster and is very relaxing for those who are looking for some "me time"
